ALA Executive Board Candidates

Here is the slate of nominees for the ALA Executive Board.  I will vote for two of them at Midwinter.  If any of you know any of these people, have worked with them, etc., please let me know your thoughts.  You may either post a comment to this blog or email me at rbanks@mail.tscpl.org.  I attend the candidate forum and do talk to other councilors about the candidates, but would appreciate any Kansas information that may be available.

EPA Libraries Closing

I just received word from Keith Michael Fiels, Executive Director of ALA about the closing of EPA Libraries.  ALA is extremely concerned about about the closing of these libraries and is working with Washington to see if it is possible to reverse this situation.  It has been reported that the General Accounting Office is initiating an inquiry.  We don't know what this may bring.  I will keep you posted on anything that I hear through ALA.
